13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? – Matthew 16:13

Many fail to recognize the spiritual authority that believers in Christ now have over the forces of darkness– truly, we now possess the principal authority of Jesus Christ over Satan’s unnatural law! We have been given the power to bind the emissaries of evil, to let loose the forces of Almighty God, and to tear down the strongholds of fear that are constantly being set up by our enemies. We have already been given victory through our Savior, Jesus Christ! All we must do now is grasp the cosmic nature of this multi-dimensional battle.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. – Matthew 16:19

We draw attention to a spiritually profound moment during the Ministry of Jesus: His specific (locational) declaration against a principal gateway of Hell. As Jesus began to set forth His spiritual “battle plan” at Caesarea Philippi, we see– truly– that Peter was not the “rock”, but rather, that Jesus was speaking of Peter’s confession: Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God, was the “rock” that the church would be built upon. This interpretation is in stark contrast to the Catholic claim of supreme authority over the global church due to Peter’s supposed “Vicarage”. Further more– in the most literal sense– Jesus himself was preaching upon the very rock where a dimensional gateway was located– the base of Mount Hermon– the localized conception point where true evil descended onto the earth during the days of King Jared.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. – Matthew 16:18-19

Caesarea Philippi was at the base of Mount Hermon, and its main feature was a Temple dedicated to the demi-god, Pan– the son of Hermes, the “divine trickster”. Most profoundly, Mount Hermon is the location of the angelic descent in Genesis 6– the fallen cherubim that procreated with mankind– whose offspring ushered in the genetic rebellion through the prophesied Seed of the Serpent. Also worth noting: Mount Hermon falls directly over the 33rd degree parallel– which to the informed student, is the pervasive signature of the fallen cherubim and their ultimate rebellion against God.

Pan: the son of Hermes, the (demi) god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature of mountain wilds, of desolate places, rustic music and impromptus, and companion of the nymphs; also, Pan is the god of fields, groves, wooded glens and often affiliated with sex; because of this, Pan is connected to fertility and the season of spring.

Hermes: the “divine trickster”, the god of boundaries, the patron of herdsmen, thieves, graves, and heralds; he is described as moving freely between the worlds of the mortal and divine, and was the conductor of souls into the afterlife, he outwits other gods for his own satisfaction or for the sake of humankind.

We know that Jesus is the Good Shepherd, the keeper of His flock! Thus stated, and not surprisingly, in both Hermes and Pan we see the symbolic seizure and attempted assertion of spiritual supremacy over Jesus’ divine title as the Good Shepherd. Further, the remaining characteristics of Hermes/ Pan seem to be the seeds from which the apostate religious themes of the Goddess and the Serpent sprung— their deity origins, their motions of authority, their demi-physical attributes, and their locations of principal habitation and worship.

Caesarea, and Philippi translate: the Emperor, and friend of the horse, horse-loving– or simply put: the Emperor and His horse. Jesus– as divine King upon His horse– took spiritual authority over that cursed rock as the new Caesar of Mount Hermon’s gateway! This illustration accurately defines a familiar picture that is now certainly, well known: Christ upon His full return– our victorious King– the Rider on the White Horse! At Caesarea Philippi, Jesus is declaring not only of His coming victory– ultimately over Death, but also of His authority over a literal dimensional gateway; a primary passageway used by the fallen Watchers: Mount Hermon.

Therefore, we must recognize our established authority in Jesus Christ and seize this power as our given right as Heirs to the Kingdom! We have been given the cosmic (i.e., logistical and/ or technical) ability to bind the principal forces of darkness, to let loose God’s spiritual authority over all the heavens and earth!

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. – Ephesians 6:10-17
